Welcome to my first Thursday Craft and Chat.

Today I am going to be using two Martha Stewarts

Butterfly punches. I am using her single butterfly and 

the fabulous butterfly border. I truly love them and I 

hope that you find my explanation of these two punches helpful.

The single punch is fairly clear on how to use it, so I am going

to focus on the butterfly edge. This punch cuts out a strip of butterflies,

it does not just punch the edge of your card as you will see in the next set of photos.

As you can see this punch has wing that extend out with matching

designs on each side, so it make it easy to match up your pattern

so that it comes out perfect each time.

Here you can see the process of cutting out the strip and how it totally

cuts it away from the paper. On the wing  of each side you match the cut

strip with the smaller butterfly like I have done here to get that next cut.

And here are the finished products. These punches are so precise that if you

follow the design you will get a perfect cut everytime.  So now it is time

for the finished product, my card,

Mother's Day card using ribbon.

This week our challenge was to use a Digi from our Sponsor

They have such fabulous DIGI's I just love them. So

this week I chose to do a card with this DIGI and 

put my own spin on it.

So here is is my take on this design.

I took three tulips an fussy cut them as well as the

bird. With my Fabulous finds cart I cut the background 

out of a lavender plaid. The card it's self is an over

sized card that I ran through my Dotted Swiss embossing folder.

I also like to make the inside just a pretty as the outside.

PSC30: Handmade Flowers for Mom

This weeks challenge is to make a card for mom with hand made flowers.

This is a hard one for me to do as I lost my mother 3 years ago. But I always

take flowers and hand made card to her resting place on Mothers day.

So, here is the card that I made for her.

My mother loved purple so I chose purple for her this year. I used my border

embosser to make the flowers in the corner. For the lacy edge I used one of 

Martha Stewarts edge punch. I love her punches. I layed a solid piece of  purple

over top so that just the scallops showed.

Here you get a much better look at the embossed flowers and the lacy edge.

My oval was cut with my Bigkicks and oval spellbinders cutter. I then ran it

through my Dotted Swiss embossing folder for more texture. The flowers were

stamped and fussy cut. I layed the leaves flat and placed pop dots on the flower

to lift it off the page some.

Here you can see that I put swirls under the oval, punched out a butterfly, again 

using Martha Stewart's punch and hand cut the sentiment tag and used black

stickers for the word Mom. I know that if my mother was her she would absolutely

love this card.

ME4Y Colour Challenge

This week are to make a card using a colour theme. I'll show you the 

picture in a few, but first things first, here is my card.

I love this little guy. I haven't done many boy cards but this little

fella reminded me of my son's when they were little, going fishing 

with their dad. 

Doesn't he just look like he has the world by the tale? I stamped him on

Gina K 120# card stock. I love this stuff. I just recently ran across it

and decided to get some. It doesn't bleed through when you use your

markers and it blends your colours perfectly. Then I bordered him on 

chocolate brown.

As you can see my background paper has all the colour of our challenge

card, so that was easy. I just got this stamp and absolutely love the saying.

I also bordered the sentiment with chocolate brown.

And what little boy doesn't love frogs. I just love these guys and

they happen to be in the right colour. 

Now for the challenge card.

And I always add alittle something to the  inside just to

bring it to life  as well,

Isn't he cute. Well I hope you have enjoyed my card for this

Card using a recycled material

This weeks challenge was to make our card using some kind of recycled material.

So I found a thin piece of cardboard and used my water color pencils, colored it

all in this blue and with a slightly damp paint brush, brushed the color which turns

into watercolor. It's really cool how these work. Then I ran it through my crimper

to get the corigated look. I wanted something to sit my jar of bugs on so I used one

of my Sizzix dies to cut the red then placed my jar of bugs on top. I used Lady bugs

and tied RRR ribbon around the lid and backed my sentiment with the same color red.

I usually do a longer post on these but got behind. Life happens.

RRR - challenge-46-black-white-and-one other color

Black & White Challenge

I love using a palette that is simple and clean. I decided to use the color Yellow for

my choice of color. Here is my card.

I had this beautiful grosgrain ribbon in my ribbon box so it made my choice very

simple. I used my Sizzix small dots embossing folder to emboss the bottom half of

my card. I placed the ribbon over the mid way part and left the top half plain. My

ThankYou stamp is by Stampendous. I used my Creative memories circle cutter to cut

 out the sentiment and the black circle that frames it. The butterfly really looks like a

I stamped it, but it is actually  a cutout from Martha Stewarts punches. I love how the

black and white paper looks on this butterfly.

For the inside, I used that same butterfly cutter to place a butterfly in the corner

and the matching border punch for the bottom. Can you tell I love butterflies.

Made Especially For You Challenge: Create a card featuring three flowers

Weekly challenge.

 I am always excited to get to work on my newest card challenge,

and this week is no different. Our challenge was to make a card with

three flowers. I new that I was going to use my Tim Holtz flower maker.

I just love how much demention these flowers have. So here is my

take on this weeks challenge.

I decided to make  a Thank you card since I am getting low on those.

My backgound paper is just a piece of scrap that was in my scrap box. Just love

that box :) I used one of my Martha Stewart edge cutters and placed a simple

edge around the entire card. I had precute the square that I placed in the center and ran

it through one of my embossing folders. Although it is hard to see, it has vines

and birds on it. Then I used more scrap paper to make the white vines. On top of

the flowers I hot glued silk flowers on top and finally cut a banner and stamped the

Thank you sentiment.

This view gives you a closer look at the edging  and the Thank You banner.

And for the inside, never wanting to leave it blank, I used my background paper

and topped it off with a piece of left over pink.
