Feelin' Lucky Challenge #2

This week's card is for  http://www.kraftygirls.com/2012/02/feelin-lucky-challenge-2.htmlrom and http://reasonableribbon.blogspot.com/search/label/challenges. I make a card using stitching with a St. Patricks day theme. This one was so much fun to do. I'll let you be the judge.

I love the two color theme on this card. So to begin with I cute a 3" square out of the top of the inner white card, ran it through my Sizzix and the small dots embossing folder. Then I cut 1/4" strips of my green to make the lattis work over the cut out. Then I replaced the square cut out over that on the back to make it really stand out. The back ground was sewn on  using a machine blanket stitch.

You get a better look at the lattis work here. I really like this look.You also get a good look at the stitching. I cut the flower from two different dies, ran it through my small dots embossing folder and put a pearl in the center.

I ran a piece of scrappy ribbon across the bottom and placed the St. Patricks Day sentiment that our sponsor donated over the top at an angle. I think the card has a real classic look to it.

For the  inside I used my Creative Memories stitch cutter to finish off the bottom and ran a 1/2 strip of white through it to give it that stitched look. The journaling box is just a white square. Must say, I love this card.

UNSCRIPTED SKETCHES #147

This weeks challenge over at UNSCRIPTED SKETCHES is from this sketch.



This is my take on that sketch.

Here is the challenge sketch.

I really like this sketch. I sewed that green back ground on using a blanket stitch with my sewing machine. Then I took dark green and framed in the white square and retangle after running it through my dots embossing folder by Sizzix.

For the flower I cut out the stem and leaves from my smaller leaf maker and to make the flowers I used Tim Holtzs rosette maker. I just love, love, love that tool. I topped off the flower with a green button and green embroidery thread.

I placed the smaller rosette on the bottom just above my Sentiment.

For the inside I framed a piece of white journaling paper with the same plaid paper from the front and then cut a fancy floral corner piece to add interest. I love this card. Here's one last look at my finished card. Hope you enjoy it.

PSC20: Get Well Sketch

It's time for another Perfect Sentiments Challenge. This week challenge is a Get Well card using a sketch. I will show you the sketch in must a minute, but first for my card.

And now for the Challege Sketch.

This is how I used the sketch to make my card.

For the center circle I used the large Floral Doily Motif cutter by Spellbinders. I then ran it through my BigKicks in the small dots folder by Sizzix.. For the sentiment I used my "Cricut Phrases Cartridge to cut out the Get Well Soon sentiment and layered it on top of the Doily.

In the corner I made a yellow polka dot bow to add more of  a spring touch.

For the bottom lace look, I cut 4 corner pieces from the same Floral Doily Motif, the glued two of them together and placed them ontop of the polka dot ribbon that I used for the bow. Very elegant look for this card.

For the inside, (which is upside down and I don't know why, but my computer WILL NOT KEEP IT UP RIGHT) anyway, I placed the same yellow ribbon and cut two of the corner pieces out of yellow, this time to match the front. I think this card SHOUTS OUT Get Well.



Made Especially For You's weekly card challenge!

This weeks challenge was to use only Three Papers. This is what I did.

I had this great travel paper that I had wanted to use and I thought this challenge would be perfect for it, It has dimention, different textures and had that wonderful rose, lavendar color tone that I was looking for. It also looks like many papers put together.

This flower, although you can't really see it has a very light lavender color to it and it's all paper.  I had found it in the bottom of my tub where I keep all my flowers. It was just perfect.

The darker lavender paper that I used for the side and the sentiment was just in my paper scraps. Just love using up little pieces of scraps that are really not of much use for anything else. It looked alittle bare so I added some self sticking pearls to give it that elegant feel. I hope that this card gives you inspiration for you own card.

The Play Date Cafe Challenge:PDCC119

My card today is for the Play Date Cafe Challenge: PDCC119. Their challenge this week was

Color Splash. The challenge was to make a Black and White card with a Slash of hot pink. I chose to make a Pink and Black card using the White in the Pink Sorbet Twinery thread. Here is my card.

My scallop is cut out from my Cricket card  Accent Essentials pattern #31. For the half circle I used my Creative Memories circle cutter. I removed a portion of the scallop and circle to give it this dementional layering. For the smaller circles I used my Creative memories circle cutter. I ran the Pink Sorbet thread around the card three times, placing it about a 1/4" apart.

The flower was cute from my Sizzix. I layered it with pink and black, with a black button threaded with the Pink Sorbet thread.

I had a stash of these great metal sentiments and thought that the Loving one said it all about

this card.

To finish the inside off, I placed a smaller #31 cut out with three strands of the Pink Sorbet thread tied in a knot.

One more look at my finished card. Now for the inspiration card.

PSC19: All Holiday and Seasons

It's time for another "Perfect Sentiment Challenge" and we could choose what ever Holiday we wanted so I chose to do St.Patties day.

This was fairly easy for me since I used dimentional stickers by Recollections. I love using these when time  just gets away from you and you need something quick.

I cut the St. Patrick's Day sentiment from the center of St.Patricks Day Paper from DCMV. I bordered it with white and poked my holes around the outside edge. I really needed a larger needle for making my holes but they are there. In the left corner I placed the good luck Horseshoe.

Along the left side I punched threading holes and weaved a strip of white paper through it. I really like the looks of this.

For the bow I used a shoe string with clovers on it. Just the perfect touch.

One last look at my card for the PSC.

Made Especially For You Sketch Design

Really had fun with this one. I started with a cream colored card and covered the front with this tan and brown striped paper. Under the lace it is framed with brown strips which you can't even see.

I got in my favorite ribbon box and found the fun pink lace with a pink ribbon running through the center of it.Then I put this really cute pink hand made flowerette to go with it.

In that same box of ribbon there was this cute old fashioned lace that I put all around the outside of the card. I loved this lace.

We were given 4 choices of stamp art by DIGI and I chose this cute little bear to place in the center of my card. Haven't done allot of coloring art but I think it turned out fine, and finally.

I had this adorable LOVE stamp that I stamped on brown paper and then just cute it out. I think it finished the card off very nicely.
